Hello Everyone!

Please bear with me as I am a first-time blogger and all this is new to me. There is no doubt that over the next few weeks you will see lots of mistakes, repeats, and perhaps some really crazy "stuff" going on here until I get my feet underneath me on this blogging adventure. I thank you all in advance for your patience.

With the current status of the economy and the effect, it has had on my field of work (oil and gas) I thought I would go ahead and step out of my comfort zone and do something I have been wanting to do for a long time. With many years of experience in oil and gas especially on the inspection side of the industry, I have been wanting to share my knowledge with others and hope that what I have to offer has some value to not only those in the oil and gas industry but perhaps other individuals who work in other professions.

Since my layoff last March, I have been forced to think outside the box for ways of getting myself out in front of the people who are hiring. I have also discovered several pitfalls during my job hunting endeavors that individuals like myself run up against when it comes to representing yourself for potential job openings. I have some ideas to remedy these pitfalls and hope to introduce them over the next few months.

I consider myself as being transparent when it comes to my profession. I am in no way claiming that I know everything or my experience is the end-all. I do consider myself as being direct, firm, and fair. I will offer my feedback and opinion to anyone who asks for it. However, keep in mind that I will give you my honest and truthful answer and it could very well be the answer you do not want to hear. So, if you are looking for someone to hand you a pair of  "rose-colored glasses" and pump sunshine up your backside so you can feel good about yourself, I'm probably not the guy you want to answer your questions. Don't get me wrong, I give credit where credit is due and I believe credit should be given on merit. Ownership of your actions and words goes a long way with me. I will also let you know I have no problems with hearing direct responses from anyone so long as they have merit and pertain to the subject matter. I learn from everyone I meet and work with. I welcome input and discussion.

I have had many failures and successes professionally and personally. I have learned from them all and will continue to learn because in life as human beings we will continue to have failures and successes until we take our last breath. Nobody is perfect and in knowing that we should allow ourselves a little leniency when it comes to self-evaluation and our perception of others.

I'm looking forward to learning this blogging platform and even more excited to share my knowledge and experiences with you and hope we can generate some new ideas and concepts that may be of some value to others. I welcome you all to feel free to share your thoughts, questions, and comments!

Take care and be safe!
